Weekly comments yippee

Whats up y’all its Dwon/ Dwonivan/Dwonathan and my new trademark: everyone’s little brother (thanks Sam lmao). So this week was uneventful besides learning how to work our microphones and sound effects which was kinda fun. I don’t like my independent study at all to be honest with you, it’s just not the way I want it to be mainly because I don’t know basic anatomy or perspective and I slacked off on my anatomy studies this weekend. Also I feel like I’m slacking in school even though the majority of my grades are in the 80’s, not to mention my skill with my desk tablet isn’t as good as my skill with my on screen tablet and to me it shows so that’s pretty depressing to be honest with you. But I did revisions for my diving board which I’m pretty proud of and I’m going to do revision for my hare so my grade will be higher since me not doing it basically killed my grade but it’ll get better. I still don’t have a plan for my final project which sucks because I used to be really creative and ...

Rule of Thirds

The Rule of Thirds is used to show dominance on screen for films. The tool trisects a frame vertically and horizontally into smaller parts, creating equal intersections that help balance the frames. Using the foreground and the intersections, you can see the importance of each bit of the scene, implying more power.   Bringing a character into the foreground establishes the importance of of said character. While everything is focused, we usually look at the foreground first then the middle and background which gives the foreground more power. For example having two bottom intersections and two top intersections, the top will have the most attention and power.       Center framing makes our eyes go to towards it instantly giving it more power than the rest of the screen.  Other factors involve the size between characters for example in the article in zootopia the scene with the rabbit and the ox, your eyes immediately turn to the ox since the...

Weekly comments y'all yee yee

Whats up y'all its dwonivan/ dwonathan/dwonfin and lets not forget everyone's number one short boy. So this week was semi good, i didn't get to finish my diving board exercise but i did all the animation and colored most of it so I'm happy about that.  I feel like I've improved a lot and recently I've been hitting the books more on anatomy and I'm getting better but i NEED to learn perspective like no tomorrow, and once I do I'll feel even more confident in my abilities. I'm am really excited to do discuss the final project tomorrow! But I'm less excited about it because I can't continue my independent study fight scene since I wanted the final project to be a part two but I'll just make a new entirely separate fight scene for my final project and do the old fight over spring break. I went to see Captain Marvel friday and i absolutely loved it, it was amazing and I can't wait until Avengers: Endgame but also this weekend sucked becaus...

Appeal

Today we are talking about the principle of animation, appeal. So appeal, what about it? Appeal is how and animation presents itself, how it looks. For example, you can make an amazingly animated movie, video, etc. But the character or setting in said video or animation can look really dull and no one wants to look at a dull animation. Even an action in a animation that doesn't necessarily go with how the rest of the animation can still look nice and appealing. For example in Bambi, thumper notices a beautiful bunny and stops midair, well midhop. While this doesn't look realistic like the rest of the film, it is funny and brings attention towards it.     Another example would be a ball bounce, a realistic ball bounce looks great as far the animation goes but compared to a cartoonish animated ball bounce, you would probably much rather look at the cartoon ball bounce than the realistic ball bounce. The exaggeration as well the squash and stretch catches our attention far more ...
