Wall-e Analysis

Hello everyone, last week was really fun, it was probably the only time I've ever liked taking notes while watching a movie in class. Last week we watched Wall-e, an animated movie made by Pixar. During the movie we had to pick out scenes that used one of the twelve principles of animation like for example arcs, staging, squash and stretch, anticipation, etc.          A principle of animation used towards the middle of the movie was appeal. Did anyone notice how all the robots on the ship looked very different from each other and they each had their own purpose or job, for example the robot Moe was a small, square-like, cleaning robot with a scrubber, who is seen cleaning Wall-e's tracks throughout the movie, searching for him eventually becoming a friend. Also, throughout the movie you can see that Wall-e has shown human emotions like when he was blushing when Eve "kissed" him and the emption of being frightened or worried when he wa...
Hello everyone (probably gonna be my introduction for every post), we are now in week 4 or 5 of school it has been really fun, I'm loving class even though I'm not doing as good as i would like to. I'm a slow worker and can get confused with toon boom sometimes but I'm getting better with it i guess, Has anyone heard of or is doing inktober? Inktober is a drawing challenge that happens every year at the start of October where there is a new theme everyday then you draw something based off of that theme and it MUST be drawn in ink, you can draw in pencil first then trace in ink though. This week during class i learned how to make objects speed up and slow down also how to fill in frames to make the animation less choppy. I still have a long way to go to get the hang of the software and I need to improve with my traditional skills along with my digital skills. In the future i would like to learn how to how to make a full length animation movie like the workflow of it, as ...

Birthdays

Hello everyone! So i just finished watching the TED talk " How boredom can lead to your most brilliant ideas" by  Manoush Zomorodi and I actually found it really inspiring.      So the video talks about how when you feel boredom, see, when you are bored, your body goes on an "autopilot like state which is actually when your brain works the hardest. It allows you to access ideas, your inner thoughts, solve problems, and set goals that you would normally not think of or experience nor brainstorm. Not ever being bored never really gives you time to think about that stuff, usually we aren't bored by one thing, you guessed our good friend, smartphone. You see, phones distract us from ideas that we usually think when bored but with smartphones we usually aren't. On average, we shift our attention every 45 seconds and attempt to multi task which can actually use up nutrients in our body. The average person checks their emails 74 ties a day and switche...

Weeks worth of animation class

This week in animation class, we learned the 12 different principles of animation and how and when to use them properly. For example i learned the squash and stretch can be used to simulate speed as far as speeding up starting to speed up. I personality never noticed how when walking we are rising up and down. What would be interesting to see in the future would to see how lip syncing works and what mouth movements to use for certain vowels or words. This week during working on the color theory project, either my computer wouldn't allow me to do certain things so it took a while to do it, but also I'm not good with computers at all, so thats probably the reason why. An exciting thing that happened this week was that we watched Wall-e in class to take notes on the principles of animation used in the movie, its an amazing movie and i would highly recommend it.
