Class Evaluation

1. Why did you take this class? I love anime and cartoons which both heavily influenced my creativity since I was little. But also I've wanted to go to NCTEC since I was in the third grade beck when I think it was called Digital Media? Or graphic design? I can't remember. 2. In general, what do you like most about this class? Other the people, probably the fact that the class allows me to go to school for something that I actually like, care about, and has something to do with what I want to do in adulthood. 3. In general, what did you like least about this class? 3D animation and everything involved with it, not my cup of tea at all. 4. What was your favorite project and why? I actually have two. Number one is the diving board project because it was the first project that everyone actually genuinely liked it and wasn't silent after watching it because of how bad my animations were. Number two would have to be my independent study, because I expanded on more thing...

THANKS FOR THE GREAT YEAR, YOU ALL BETTER READ THIS

I just want to thank everyone and I will talk about everyone individually. Savannah : you've been one of my closest friends since kindergarten, I appreciate you so much even if I don't show it or say it. I love your optimism about everything and how you see the good in a lot of things and block out the bad. Annabelle : Your "honks" are always hilarious and lighten the mood no more how gloomy or quiet/awkward class might be. Thanks for handing out super cool insect stickers, which I still have on my wacom tablet! Even though things may seem hard and crumbling on top of you, keep at it! You're a great artist and it'll only get better from here. P.S. You're going to become a great clown! Keep at it! Lillian : What's brackin Lillian, how ya living? My favorite brony, keep doing it, I love your design and art style. Never stop "bronin" lol. Thanks for introducing me to a whole punch of memes, I always enjoy a good deep fried meme now. Thanks ...

References for Final Project Animation

Motion Blurs  : The video was really handy for me when it came to doing fast motion in the story. For example when the panda shoots an energy ball at the pig, I used motion blurs at the end of the ball give the illusion of fast motion but also I animated the scene on 1's I believe since it was supposed to go so fast that the pig didn't have time to react or be on guard for it. Front view run cycle  : Originally at the start of this project, I had a lot of trouble drawing and animating a front view run cycle, it was really difficult for me to find one that I didn't have too much trouble drawing. This was the easiest run cycle for me to draw at the time and I felt like it suited well with the beginning. I tried many different speeds until I decided to just animate on 2's for the cycle. The actual run was only around six frames so I had to copy and paste the sequence to keep it going. Hand References  : These hand references were key when it came to this project...

Final Project Blog

Hey y'all it's Dwon/Dwonivan here with my final project blog. In short, it isn't finished. Y'all were right, I was in over my head and did too much, especially since I was gone for a week. I'm just gonna turn it in the way it is. So the story starts with the villain "Panda" who is running to the cave where all the pigs live.  The panda gets there, doing a action jump as they arrived. The scene changes to an adult pig inside the cave, playing with young pig, swinging it around. The adult pig recognizes the panda, asks "whats happening?" The panda's face starts to look sad, almost crying but they cover their face before we can see. In the process, they put their hand out. The adult pig, looking confused, asks what they are doing. The panda creates an energy ball, intending to kill the adult pig. The adult pig gets frightened asking "what's this about?" Only to be shot in the chest, killed instantly.   Overhearing the noise, tw...

Weekly stuff yahoooo

Hey y'all its Dwon/Dwonivan and I'm back from the dominican republic, it was a good time but also not great. Because of the trip, I've fallen super behind on the project like I'm still animating it sadly, which also means I'm definitely gonna have to pull an all nighter or two to finish it but it'll be worth it in the end.  I'm still kinda "scared" I guess about t doing the final project blog because with this project I barely used any references, well maybe enough? We shall see, but yeah don't be surprised if on Monday I'm still not done with the rough animation because it'll be a lot to do but I got this *dabs. I don't really have a choice anyway lol, it's either hand it in incomplete and get a failing grade or pull like two all nighters (not back to back ofc) and be able to finish it. I'd definitely choose the latter. The coloring shouldn't be too bad because my colors are probably gonna be mainly flat colors and stuf...

Practice

So this weeks blog is on all about something I need to do more with drawing...... PRACTICE!!! Practice is the process of doing a skill over and over again until you get better as we all know. Being an artist, animator, or illustrator or just any field of work requires a lot of practice and there isn't a way around all that practice either, if there was, we'd all be masters at the field we are in.    There are different ways of practicing. Always learn things in small chunks, if you try to learn too much at once, it'll be crammed in your head and harder to remember or do. Also practice through repetition, it's how your mind picks up on things and remembers how to do them. As artists, we usually have our own little projects that we do, regardless if it is for school, commissions, or just something we are working on for ourselves, this is not practice. Doing projects is usually doing something you are already good at, so you're not practicing on something you are lack...

Weekly Stuff lets go y'all!

Whats up y'all its dwonivan/ dwonathan/dwonfin and lets not forget everyone's number one short boy! So this week went by pretty fast, but for me it was basically a week of catching up on work from school, which was followed by falling asleep while trying to finish my independent study which sucked but i wasn't worried about. When I revise it, I'm gonna make it how I originally wanted it to be, with a real fight scene and al that good stuff. Luckily I turned the rest of my work so I'm caught up, yay! I was doing fanart for Phil from The Promised Neverland which I'll finish this weekend, I love Phil he's such the sweetest little boy in the anime, but also really intelligent for his age (which is four). I didn't really work on my final project at all this week since I need to record the rest of Savannah and Ari's audio since they are my main characters (thanks again love y'all!) but I've been practicing my poses a lot in class and at first I fou...
