Visual Effects: Avengers Infinity War, Thanos.

So as we all know, Marvel Cinematic has a huge franchise of superhero movies ranging from Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Spiderman, etc. With these movies comes many scenes that involve VFX which can create characters that wouldn't exist in reality. Today we will talk the latest installment of the Marvel cinematic universe, Avengers: Infinity War. Mainly about the worthy villain, the titan Thanos.
        Thanos was played by Josh Brolin who you may remember (if you like old movies) played Brand in the movie "the Goonies".  Visual effects supervisor Dan DeLeeuw explained that they had done Thanos other times in past films but knew they would really have to make him come to life in their true vision for this film.
      The performances were sent to two different VFX faculties, the subtle performances went to a faculty called Digital Domain and the action performances went to a faculty called Weta. One part they had to figure out was how Josh Brolin's face moved whenever he talked so they wouldn't have one on one sessions with him, not to go over lines, but just to talk to see how his face moved. To capture his face during the scenes, they put 150 tracking dots on his five to make a low resolution mesh, put it through a machine learning system then saw what high resolution would do it.
 Brolin would perform with the other actors during their scenes to really get the motion capture right for the character. The complexity was the most difficult part of the film with 2,700 cuts and 80 shots they didn't touch. Overall, 97% of the film was visual effects and without the effects, the film wouldn't get very far.
            I really liked this article because it talked about the long process of creating a character with visual effects, also it was about one of my favorite characters in Infinity War. I recommend this for anyone who is interested in VFX or just wants to see how Thanos was created.

Weekly stuff yahoooo

Hey y'all its Dwon/Dwonivan and I'm back from the dominican republic, it was a good time but also not great. Because of the trip, I've fallen super behind on the project like I'm still animating it sadly, which also means I'm definitely gonna have to pull an all nighter or two to finish it but it'll be worth it in the end.  I'm still kinda "scared" I guess about t doing the final project blog because with this project I barely used any references, well maybe enough? We shall see, but yeah don't be surprised if on Monday I'm still not done with the rough animation because it'll be a lot to do but I got this *dabs. I don't really have a choice anyway lol, it's either hand it in incomplete and get a failing grade or pull like two all nighters (not back to back ofc) and be able to finish it. Timing

 Timing is essential when it comes to animation but also it helps you improve as an artist/animator as well. Animation veteran has sat down and taught us why timing is important and how it can also be fun to do also.     Timing involves how fast something moves and how long it stays still. Slowing an object represents weight, gravity, mass and speeding up an object adds speed, energy, and lightness. When working on timing, it is a good idea to work on the poses that you want in an animation, and number the poses as to where it breaks down, this allows you to know ahead of time if the rhythm is right and if the poses work out together or not.          Your key poses help set up how the rest of the poses will turn out, they aren't shown for that long, only for a quarter to half of a second but you can stretch out the time a little bit so your audience is able to see them.
